The story of Predator 2 revolves around Lt. Mike Harrigan's mission to take down a notorious crime lord in an urban setting. His goal is to rescue hostages, eliminate drug dealers, and defeat the boss at the end of each level.

The gameplay focuses on side-scrolling action and adventure elements. As Lt. Mike Harrigan, players must navigate through 7 levels while avoiding the Predator's deadly laser aim. The player can move in all 8 directions and shoot in various directions as well, but with limited movement capabilities. To aid in the fight, players can collect new weapons, body armor, and med kits to increase health.
