The Commodore 64 version of Jinks introduced several innovative features to the Breakout genre. This game allowed for greater freedom of movement with its paddle, as well as horizontal scrolling and the ability to flip it. These changes added a new layer of challenge and excitement to the traditional Breakout formula.
Players are tasked with surviving on the planet Jinks, where their mission has turned sour. The planet is filled with obstacles that can destroy the paddle or reduce its size. Additionally, if the ball gets stuck in an endless loop, the screen will shake violently, making it harder to control the paddle.
