Astro Boy: The Video Game is a side-scrolling action-adventure game that follows Astro Boy as he tries to save Metro City from President Stone and his robots. The game takes place on both the ground and in the air, with Astro Boy able to fight through levels using a combination of beat 'em up and shoot 'em up mechanics.
The gameplay involves fighting enemies and bosses, as well as using special attacks such as an Arm Cannon, Butt Machine Guns, and Absorb. Astro Boy can also recharge his health by absorbing portions of it. Players can find power-ups and costumes in hard-to-reach areas to help them on their quest. The game features both single-player and 2-player multiplayer co-op modes.
