Gremlins 2: The New Batch is set in the movie of the same name. Gizmo is trapped inside Clamp Centre by the evil Gremlins . It is up to the player to help him battle his way to the Control Center and rid the city forever of the Gremlin menace.
This game is a side-scrolling platform game. Gizmo can equip various weapons from a pencil to a toolbox to use against different Gremlins and other vermin such as spiders, bats, and rats. There are also traps that hurt Gizmo . Gizmo can be hit by an enemy or trap multiple times before he loses a life.
Game Boy is the console on which this game was released, and it was released in December 1990. The gameplay involves navigating through levels while avoiding traps and fighting off Gremlins to rescue Gizmo .

This is a horizontal-scrolling action game where players control Gizmo, the hero, to overcome enemies and bosses across four stages. The premise involves Gizmo escaping a genetics lab and then battling new Gremlins he accidentally created. Players utilize various items and devices to progress through the levels.
Story
GAME OVERVIEW
This is the Game Boy version of GREMLINSβ’ 2, adapted from the Warner Brothers movie "GREMLINS 2 β THE NEW BATCH" released in the summer of 1990.
It is a horizontally scrolling action game with four stages, two bonus stages, and three demos. A formidable boss appears at the end of each stage to annoy Gizmo, the hero.
Gizmo must overcome various enemies and barriers using certain items and other feature devices.
GAME STORY
Several years after the Gremlins' night of havoc, Mr. Wing passed away and his store was torn down. Gizmo was kidnapped while attempting to escape.
Gizmo is now a prisoner in the genetics lab inside the Clamp Centre, owned by Daniel Clamp, a supertycoon in New York. Billy Peltzer, Gizmo's previous owner, happened to be working in the Clamp Centre as a commercial artist.
After hearing a messenger whistling Gizmo's song, Billy tracked Gizmo down in the lab and rescued him. The happy reunion was short-lived, however.
Gizmo accidentally produced four new evil Mogwais, which developed into full-fledged Gremlins through the magic of genetics. Now, Gizmo must cope with these evil, powerful Gremlins.
How to Play
Game Stages
The game features four stages, each ending with a boss battle. Gizmo will also encounter Gremlins throughout each stage.
Two bonus stages are included, one between Stage 1 and 2, and another between Stage 3 and 4. The gameplay content is identical in both bonus stages.

Gameplay Features
Damage
When Gizmo is hit by an enemy or barrier, he loses either one-eighth or one-fourth of his life gauge, depending on the type of enemy or barrier. One-eighth of the life gauge is equivalent to half of one of the four HEARTs displayed at the top of the screen.
If Gizmo falls to the bottom of the scroll, he loses one of his available lives.
Game Over
The game ends when Gizmo's three lives are depleted.
Game Continue
After the game ends, "CONTINUE" appears on the screen.

To continue from where the game ended, move the cursor to "YES" and press the Start Button.

To start the game over from the beginning, move the cursor to "NO" and press the Start Button.

You can continue as many times as you wish.
Special-Effect Blocks and Obstacles

Belt Conveyor: Gizmo is forced to move in the direction indicated by the arrow.

Punch: Stepping on this block allows Gizmo to punch in two sideways directions.

Pass-Through Block: Gizmo can travel behind this block or a wall of these blocks.

Jumping Spring: Stepping on the spring allows Gizmo to jump higher than from the ground. With proper timing and pressing the [A] Button, he can jump even higher.

Thorn: Touching this obstacle from any direction will injure Gizmo. He will lose half of one HEART each time he hits it.

Items & Weapons
Pencil
Each stage is provided with only one PENCIL. You (Gizmo) can use it as many times as you would like to knock down the enemies nearby.
Cassette Radio
When you pick up this item, you will get a 'musical note' on top of Gizmo. Press the [B] Button, and you can hurl it at an enemy and knock him down.
Tool Box
When provided with this item, Gizmo can hide himself in the TOOL BOX and withstand five hits from an enemy or one hit from the "thorn".
Hearts
Two types of HEARTs are available for pickup: A large HEART helps you revive all four HEARTs in the on-screen life gauge back to full, while a smaller HEART helps you revive one of the four HEARTs in the life gauge.
