R: Racing Evolution is a racing game featuring several modes of gameplay. You play as Rena Hayami in the Racing Life story mode, where you start as an ambulance driver and become a racecar champion after completing various challenges. There are 14 chapters in total.
The Event Challenge mode offers a variety of racing events to enter, with entrance fees that can be earned by winning previous challenges. You can also upgrade or buy new cars for better performance. The Arcade Mode allows you to compete against computer-controlled cars on your chosen track, with options such as the number of laps and rival cars.
The game also features Time Attack , where you try to earn the best time on a chosen track and car. The VS. Mode is a two-player game where you can compete against another player for either the best time or most points. With various racing options, including brake assist, transmission types, and adjustments to your cars' performance, you'll need to master these features to succeed.
The game offers a range of cars with unique speed and steering characteristics, which can be unlocked by playing Racing Life and Event Challenge . A pressure meter also applies psychological pressure on other drivers when you're driving behind them, giving you an opportunity to pass easily. The instant replay option allows you to save your best (or worst!) races for later viewing.
