Area 51 , released on the Playstation in 1997, is a light gun action game where you blast your way through the secret base of the same name, which has been taken over by mutant aliens. As you progress, you'll encounter an increasingly dangerous line of enemies, upgrade your firearm, and cause as much collateral damage as possible to increase your score.
The gameplay involves using a light gun to destroy various objects in the environment, such as windows, computers, and explosive barrels, which will increase your streak rating and unlock secret bonus rooms. The home version includes additional features like special bonuses and extra secret levels not found in the arcade version, as well as a mouse option.
