Lot Lot is a puzzle game where the goal is to manipulate the balls to fall into pits and generate points. The game has five pits: Out (0 points), 10 points, 30 points, 50 points, and a special "Out" pit that results in losing a life. Each level starts with a target score that must be reached before progressing to the next level.
The screen is divided into sixteen sections, where walls randomly disappear, causing balls to drop or roll into other sections or pits at the bottom of the screen. Arrows appear on the screen, moving in tandem but with a slight delay. The player can move balls by guiding the first arrow to an empty section and pressing the space bar or fire button.
The twist is that certain areas on the screen are off-limits, including one section marked by a thin red line at the bottom left corner. If any ball enters this area, a crab appears, damaging the line and sending balls to the "Out" pit, resulting in a lost life. The player must carefully navigate the balls to avoid this penalty.
