Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days follows Kane's desperate attempt to save his family from his former associates, who have taken them hostage after a botched heist. As Kane navigates through treacherous terrain, fighting off law enforcement and rival gangs, the game takes a dark turn when it is revealed that Lynch has been hired as a hitman to eliminate any threats.
The gameplay in Lynch 2 Dog Days is fast-paced and intense, with players controlling Kane as he tries to free his family from captivity. The camera system allows for varied playstyles, switching between behind-the-back shooting and over-the-shoulder views. However, Kane's health can be depleted quickly, making teamwork essential to survive.
Players can switch between two main weapons and utilize Lynch's abilities to gain an upper hand in combat. In addition, players can command Lynch to focus fire on specific enemies or trade weapons with him to gain ammo.
The game features both offline co-op and online multiplayer modes, including a competitive "Fragile Alliance" mode where teams must work together to rob a bank while avoiding being marked as a traitor by their own teammates.
