UFC Undisputed 3 is a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting game based on the real-life sports with licensed fighters from the UFC and (now-defunct) PRIDE organizations. It is the follow-up to UFC Undisputed 2010 and the third main game in the series.
The story follows players as they create a custom character and progress through training sessions and matches to become famous. They can schedule fights, do training or camp sessions, prepare a game plan, read news, and follow the rankings. In the different training sessions, specific skills or attributes can be chosen to practice and improve.
The gameplay involves managing a career mode where players create a character, progress through training and matches, and earn fight purse cred to learn new moves. The fighting system is divided into three stances – standup, clinch, and ground – with different skills and moves for each one. Fights can end when a player is knocked down and unable to defend themselves.
Other game modes include Title Mode, Title Defense, Ultimate Fights, and Pride mode. Pride mode features longer rounds and new moves not allowed in UFC, as well as a Grand Prix where damage is carried over between matches. The game also introduces a submission and stamina system, fighter entrances, and various new moves.
The game can be played with friends both locally and online, and additional fighters are made available through DLC along with a full season pass. During menus and fights, FMV clips show scenes from real fights and interviews with real fighters.
