Following the events of Battle Clash, the Battle Game Chiefs had been defeated. But the world did not return to peace and instead new Chiefs and new machines rose up to rule the world. Like before, the Chiefs use giant robots known as Standing Tanks (STs). Seeing the world in trouble, the hero pilots who had defeated the Battle Chiefs decide to once again enter the Battle Game using an improved version of their ST, the Falcon. The truth behind the Battle Game will take the Falcon deep into space...
Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge is a first person shooter designed for the Super Scope Light Gun. Gameplay is identical to Battle Clash. The player takes the role of the gunner of the giant robot, movement is handled automatically by the game, scrolling the screen. Players must keep the enemy robot in the gunsights and blast away at different parts of it, while also intercepting enemy missiles and counter-attacks. All robots have a weak point that will increase the damage done to them. Power-ups such as Neutron Beams and Plasma Bombs can be picked up following the completion of certain stages, and equipped at the beginning of combat.

Extracted from the original game manual
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where society has collapsed into chaos, this game casts you as a participant in Mike Anderson's mission to dismantle the tyrannical rule of the warlord Anubis. You command a humanoid combat vehicle, known as an ST, engaging in arena-style battles against Anubis's elite Chiefs to reclaim power and restore order. The premise combines visceral vehicular combat with a narrative of vengeance and the struggle to prevent society from descending back into anarchy.
Story
REBIRTH OF THE 21ST CENTURY
As the 21st century dawned, society ignored warning signs of social unrest and tampering with nature. Crime, riots, and food shortages became commonplace, causing cities to dissolve into ruins and become armed camps.
Earthquakes and flooding devastated remaining great cities, leaving a world of anarchy filled with violence, hatred, and hopelessness. In this desolate state, human life became defined by struggle and despair.
The Battle Game
The only source of amusement in this chaotic world became the Battle Game. Advanced technology in weapons, armament, and hydraulics was twisted to create vehicles designed solely for arena-style combat.
The first combat vehicles were little more than old army tanks outfitted with updated weapon systems. As the sport progressed, advanced designs with humanoid shapes began to appear.
Originally called "Standing Tanks," these vehicles soon came to be known simply as "STs." Typical combat involved two STs facing off and firing until one was disabled.
Victory meant power and treasure, while defeat meant the loser became a second-class citizen or lost their life.
Mike Anderson's Resolve
Not all accepted the Battle Game's ethos system. One young man, Mike Anderson, refused to live by the station being forced on him by his father's defeat in the Battle Game.
Determined to seek vengeance on the fighter who had defeated his father, Mike dedicated his life to learning everything possible about ST technology.
Anubis' Rise
While Mike trained, Anubis, the fighter who had defeated Mike's father, continued to win power in his ST, the Thanatos. As he gained control, Anubis promoted the best fighters in the Battle Game to be his "Chiefs."
Each Chief was given control over a portion of the earth. Upon completing his self-imposed training, Mike set out for a dangerous goal.
The Final Goal
Mike's mission was to battle through Anubis' Chiefs and take on Anubis himself, known as Emperor. This was the one who had defeated Mike's father.
The Return of Tyranny
Three years have passed since Anubis suffered defeat at the hand of Mike Anderson. A new age of prosperity began to emerge, and the rebuilding of some of Earth's great cities commenced.
Just as quickly as he disappeared following his defeat, Anubis has reappeared to resume his tyranny. You must join Mike and attempt to crush the iron rule of Anubis.
Your goal is to prevent him from throwing society back into the darkest of ages.
Items & Weapons
THE BOMB
The Bomb will slowly fly toward the point where you aimed and explode after a short time, causing great damage. You get only one bomb per enemy.
SHIELD
This item surrounds the entire ST with an energy shield to protect you from enemy attack for a short time.
ENERGY RECOVERY UNIT
This item recovers your ST's energy to full while in battle and can only be used once.
PLASMA BOMB
The Plasma Bomb allows you to launch charged gun energy as a bomb, but it requires a 100% charge to fire.
HOMING LASER
This weapon launches a volley of laser fire that homes in on the enemy's weakest point, but cannot home in on enemies not visible in the view screen.
DISRUPTER BOMB
This special bomb disrupts the energy transfer from an opponent's engines, preventing them from moving for a short time.
LIGHTNING BOMB
This bomb has the ability to turn night into day.
V-SYSTEM
This special item shields your ST while also increasing its speed and power, but it consumes a great deal of energy and requires sufficient reserves to activate.
NEUTRON BEAM
This weapon concentrates neutrinos into a focused beam to damage your opponent, but it consumes a large portion of your ST's energy and will not fire without enough reserves.
WIDE BOMB
This special weapon is the most effective item in your ST's arsenal with awesome destructive power, but it must be fully charged before it can be used.
Enemies & Characters
Michael Anderson
Designer and pilot of the ST Falcon, Michael defeated Emperor Anubis three years ago, sparking Earth's new renaissance. He has kept a low profile but is training near a deserted air base in North America following Anubis' return.
Carol Eugene
Pilot and presumed owner of the ST Tornado, Carol's background remains unknown. She is frequently seen with Michael Anderson and the mysterious Rola.
Rola
A mysterious stranger who serves as an instructor at Michael's secret training grounds and develops various training droids and the ST Majin for exercises.
Dayan
Former head of a Mongolian nomadic tribe and now Chief of the Asian region, Dayan pilots the ST Wong. He was forced to swear loyalty to Anubis after being defeated and secretly desires to break that oath.
Orusoh
Placed by Anubis as the guardian of O.R.S. Babel, Orusoh pilots the ST Griffin. He is ruthless and uses his machine's ability to drop in and out of the atmosphere to destroy foes quickly.
Carlos
Anubis' top General who once served Thanatos, Carlos now pilots the ST Viscount. He seeks revenge on the ST Falcon, which he considers an abomination, and has rebuilt the Baron with improved weaponry.
Anubis
The world's Emperor who returned to conquer the globe in three days, Anubis pilots the ST Thanatos. He uses synaptic connections for direct control and possesses a power that transports battles into a hypnotic other dimension.
Danpe
A general of the Eitorian invasion army stationed on Jupiter, Danpe pilots the ST Arachnus. He observes Thanatos's actions and awaits an opportunity to strike with passion.
Zephyr
Stationed at Saturn, Zephyr is the sole authority for Eitorian ST research and development and pilots the ST Cobra. He designed all Eitorian STs but is timid, arrogant, and hen-pecked by his wife Pamela.
Pamela
Chief Commander of the Eltorian invasion and Zephyr's wife, Pamela is highly aggressive and pilots the mammoth, squid-shaped ST Groken designed specifically for underwater combat.
Spika
A graceful-looking ST that has never been seen in battle, this machine has only been observed watching and its pilot remains unknown.
