Angelique Duet is a spin-off of the first Angelique , where players can play as Rosalie, the rival of the first game. The main character's background has been changed to offer alternative storylines and romance events.

The gameplay and flow remain similar to the original if playing as Angelique, but have distinct differences for Rosalie. New features added in Angelique Special 2 , such as gift giving and date invitations, are also included. Additionally, there are new Friendship events between Angelique and Rosalie, as well as updated character portraits and backgrounds.

The Nintendo DS version includes a communication mode that utilizes the wireless connection capabilities of the console. This allows players to message each other and trade items through an in-game messaging system and room visits.
