Angelique is a game where a seventeen-year-old girl named Angelique Limoges competes to become the next queen of the Cosmos. She must convince the Nine Guardians to lend their power to her and maintain the balance of the elements. Her main adversary is Rosalia, a girl who wants to be the new queen.

The gameplay of Angelique combines elements from Japanese-style adventure games, dating sims, and strategy. The player's goal is to help Angelique build good relationships with the Guardians by visiting them daily, talking to them, and seeing how their powers affect the land. However, depending on the Zodiac sign chosen for Angelique , she may develop a romantic relationship with one of the Guardians, which could impact her chances of becoming queen.

Angelique was originally released on the Super Famicom in 1994 and has since been ported to other platforms. The later versions feature improved graphics, CD-quality music, voice acting, and anime-style cutscenes.
