Panzer Bandit is set in a world where an evil robotic army has invaded city after city. The fighting hero Kou and his band of heroes must take action to stop them, with the ultimate goal of destroying their flying robotic whale HQ.
The game features four playable characters, each with unique movesets, which are used in eight enemy-infested stages. Players must use attacks to pummel enemies, avoiding enemy fire using two planes of vertical motion. A power-bar increases with attacks, allowing for super moves that can be unleashed. However, these moves also increase an overheat gauge, rendering the player useless for a while.
Panzer Bandit includes features such as an anime intro and cutscenes, and uses 2D sprites with some polygonal elements for background elements.
The game was released on PlayStation on 1997-08-07 . It falls under the beat'em up genre.
