Tekken 3 is a versus fighting game that follows the story of Jin Kazama, the grandson of Heihachi Mishima, who must learn the martial arts of his family to defeat Ogre. The paramilitary organization Tekken Force is nearly obliterated by Ogre, and Heihachi hopes to use Jin to remove Ogre from his way.
The gameplay in Tekken 3 features a new side-stepping mechanic, allowing characters to retreat into the background and back during fights. There are also new combo throws and reduced jumping capabilities to make combat more realistic. Fifteen new characters have been added to the roster, adding more options for players.
Two minigames are included in Tekken 3 : Tekken Force , a beat-em-up stage that unlocks a new character, and Tekken Ball , a beach volleyball variant where characters are hurt by the ball. These additions provide a fresh take on the fighting game genre.
