NBA 2K21 is a basketball game with improved graphics, quicker loading times, and larger crowds in the arena to create busier sights and sounds on the PlayStation 5 . The game features exclusive advancements such as the use of the PS5's DualSense controller for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The game also introduces new features and modes, including a new map called City with basketball activities and multiple districts and factions. Players can take on the role of a female basketball player through the WNBA MyPLAYER experience, featuring all 12 WNBA teams. The game also includes a revamped franchise mode called MyNBA and MyWNBA, as well as a new 3v3 competition mode for online play.
Other features include a career mode that allows players to progress from high school to college or the NBA G League, with options to join one of 10 US universities. Custom leagues can have up to 36 teams or be reduced to 12. The game also includes 350 music tracks.
