The player takes the role of an ancient warrior brought to life by Wart, a benevolent wizard. The evil goddess Kardis is about to be resurrected by her servants, and the only way to stop them is to gather famous heroes from the Lodoss War universe and defeat the evil ones in battle.
Record of Lodoss War shares similarities with Diablo gameplay. It's an action RPG that focuses on combat, where you can directly control the main hero, while legendary heroes are controlled by AI. As you progress, you level up, tweak items using the Ancients system, and gain new spells. You can also forge weapons and imbue them with runes. The Goblin Fortress serves as your base, where you can heal and receive healing potions for free.
