Twelve samurai and ninja elite, including Amakusa, Shiro Tokisada, Basara, Kubikiri, Gaira, Kafuin, Galford, Poppy, Genjuro, Kibagami, Haohmaru, Hanzo, Kyoshiro, Nakoruru, Rimururu, Shizumaru, and Ukyo, Tachibana, are back to answer the threat of demon Zankuro, Minazuki.
Zankuro, once possessed by a demon, has now vowed to target those who live by the way of the sword. The hunters become the hunted in this epic battle between good and evil.
Samurai Shodown III features two different techniques for each character: the "Slash" techniques are the original moves of most characters, while the "Bust" techniques offer a darker alternative. Players can choose to master these techniques to take down their opponents in intense one-on-one combat.
