Chasm: The Rift is an action-packed adventure set inside a power plant. A Marine has been sent to investigate the sudden loss of power, only to discover a sinister plot by monsters known as the Timestrikers. These creatures are using the power to create rifts in time, invading Earth from ancient Egypt and medieval times.
The game takes you on a thrilling journey through different eras, starting with a tense exploration of the present day power plant and nuclear facility. As you progress, you'll encounter increasingly difficult challenges and enemies, including security guards and malfunctioning systems.
Chasm: The Rift was rebuilt from scratch for its 2022 Windows release, using painstaking reverse engineering and recreation techniques to recreate the original game. This new version also includes a custom-made DOSBox port of the original game, allowing players to experience the classic title in its original form.
The 2022 release is notable for incorporating an official add-on that was previously released as a patch on the developer's website. This add-on can be played in either the new version or the DOSBox version, offering a unique way to experience this retro action-adventure game.
