Transistor, a futuristic sci-fi action RPG, follows the story of Red, a famous singer who finds herself at the centre of a robot uprising. After being attacked by the robot force Process led by The Camerata, Red escapes with the powerful Transistor sword, which has absorbed the energy of its last victim.
The gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed, with Red exploring environments and battling enemies in real-time. However, during battles, a turn-based planning phase called Turn() becomes available, allowing players to select actions from an action bar before executing them. This system provides strategy and depth to the game's combat.
A key aspect of Transistor is its Function system, which allows Red to acquire powers and enhance her abilities. By experimenting with different configurations of Functions, players can unlock new techniques and upgrade existing ones. The game also features a variety of attacks, including melee and ranged options, as well as special effects like damage radius and bounce. Players can customize their functions using a terminal, and some enemies can even be turned to provide aid.
