Batman Begins is an action-packed adventure that takes players on a thrilling ride through the story of the movie. Story
Locations
BATMAN BEGINS takes you from the gritty streets of The Narrows (also known as the Entrails or The Guts in some versions) to the desolate mountains of the Himalayas. Each location is fraught with different difficulties and challenges; you must choose your weapons and work out your strategy according to the environment.
Mission Summaries

Prologue: Hunt down Dr. Crane to find out what he is trying to smuggle into Gotham, discover his plans, and break his dark alliances in the underworld.

Himalayan Monastery: As Bruce Wayne, travel to the icy peaks to receive combat and agility training from your mentor, Ducard. The League of Shadows (or Assassins) teaches you everything you need to know to become a symbol of justice.

The Docks: Return to Gotham and infiltrate Carmine Falcone's waterfront lair to uncover his plans. Beware of his hand-picked thugs from the Gotham underworld.

The Narrows: Explore this dangerous, dilapidated neighborhood populated by seedy buildings and criminals, including Carmine Falcone. It is considered the most terrifying place in Gotham.

Arkham Asylum: Venture into the claustrophobic halls where the city's most depraved criminals are housed. Dr. Crane is developing an evil plan here; you must uncover this plot and save your childhood friend, Rachel.

Hardware Overview
The Nintendo Game Boy Advance features the following controls: L Button, R Button, Power switch, Control Pad, A Button, B Button, Start, and Select.
Starting the Game

Turn OFF the power switch on your Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Never insert or remove a Game Pak when the power is ON.

Insert the BATMAN BEGINS Game Pak into the slot on the Game Boy Advance. To lock the Game Pak in place, press firmly.

Turn ON the power switch. The Legal and Title screens appear, followed by the Prologue.
Setting Up the Game
Plunge into Gotham's criminal underworld as the legendary Dark Knight in the BATMAN BEGINS video game. Use fear, intellect, and an arsenal of high-tech gadgets to intimidate and defeat the sinister forces threatening the city. From a remote, ancient Himalayan monastery to stately Wayne Manor to the chaotic halls of Arkham Asylum, embrace the darkness as you fight for justice.
Initially, the game automatically starts at the Prologue. Once you have saved a game, however, you start at the Main menu. Select START GAME and then select NEW GAME.
Playing the Game
To take out your enemies effectively, you need to master the art of stealth as well as how to use objects in your environment to your advantage. Use your Batarang, Flash-Bang grenade, or other gadgets in your arsenal and you'll have your enemies dropping like flies.

Press the B Button while holding the Control Pad down.
Rear attack
Press the B Button while blocking using the L Button.
Flip attack
Press the B Button while running.
Uppercut
Press the B Button and the Control Pad up.
Head-butt
Press the B Button and the Control Pad diagonally up-left or up-right.
Roll attack
While crouching, press the B Button and the Control Pad diagonally down-left or down-right.
Stealth Hiding
Press the Control Pad up to hide in shadows or alcoves, allowing you to wait for enemies to stop searching and return to patrol.
Stealth Attack
Press the B Button as an enemy passes in front of you while hiding to launch a surprise attack with increased damage.
Attack from the Bat Grapple
Hang from the grapple, wait for an enemy to pass below, and press the B Button to attack from above.
Jump Attack
Press the B Button while in the air to attack, or combine it with the Control Pad direction toward the enemy.
Using Stealth and Fear
Use fear and sneak attacks to catch enemies off guard, inflicting more damage before they can prepare a counter.
Wall Cling
Press the Jump button (A) and the directional cross toward the wall to cling to it, or jump off from this position.
Combat Maneuvers
Includes standing, moving, crouching, back, flip, uppercut, headbutt, and rolling attacks executed via various B Button and directional cross combinations.
Grapple Attack
Use the grapple to attack from afar by hanging and pressing the B Button when an enemy passes underneath.
Attack While Jumping
Initiate an attack mid-air by pressing the B Button or combining it with the directional cross toward the enemy.
Utility Belt: Batarang
Briefly stun an enemy from a safe distance or use it to trigger a switch.
Utility Belt: Bat-Grapple
Use the grappling hook to reach very high places and spy on enemies while preparing your attack.
Saving and Loading
The game auto-saves at certain points; you can manage up to three saved games through the Save Game menu, including options to load or erase files.
Combat Awareness
Observe Batman's posture to detect approaching enemies; entering a combat stance signals that someone is near, allowing you to prepare for a fight.
Stealth Attacks
Use intelligence and stealth to attack enemies from behind, causing more damage since they lack time to counter your strike.
Deleting Save Files
To remove a save file, select DELETE from the save menu and then choose the specific file you wish to erase.
Items & Weapons
Stealth Movement
Walk don't run to move stealthily, as running makes more sound and alerts enemies. To initiate a stealth attack, see Attacking on p. 10. A drop attack is another way to catch adversaries unaware by pressing the B Button while hanging from a pipe.
Utility Belt
You have a wide range of gadgets stocked in your Utility Belt.
Batarang
Briefly stun an enemy from a safe distance by throwing this gadget, or use it to trigger a switch.
Bat Grapple
Grapple to hard-to-reach places quickly for a high vantage point to spy on enemy movements or gauge timing for an attack.
Flash-Bang Grenade
Distract and momentarily incapacitate enemies by tossing this grenade into their midst. It emits a concussion wave and detonates a brilliant flash which briefly stuns your enemy.
Smoke Grenade
Create instant, portable stealth zones with these grenades.
Bat Transponder
The transponder emits high frequency sound waves that summon a swarm of bats, which immobilizes enemies with fear.
Stun Grenade
Distract and temporarily immobilize your enemies by throwing this grenade. It emits a concussive blast and a brilliant flash that briefly immobilizes your enemy.
Bat-tranceiver
The tranceiver emits high-frequency sound waves that attract a swarm of bats which paralyzes the enemy with fear.
Reputation
As you progress, your reputation improves by collecting 16 hidden items to unlock a special bonus. Once collected, find them again in different locations to unlock a second bonus.
