About Battles
There are two kinds of battles: against Wild Pokémon and against other Pokémon Trainers. The Pokémon on the left side of your Party appears first. Winners share Experience Points; losers are returned to the last Pokémon Center and lose half their money.
Fighting Wild Pokémon
Wild Pokémon may attack in caves or grassy areas. Use a Poké Ball to catch them when they do.
Battling a Pokémon Trainer
Trainers challenge you if you make eye contact or walk in front of them. You cannot run from Trainer battles or capture their Pokémon. Victorious trainers receive prize money.
•
2-on-2 Battles: Some trainers challenge you to 2-on-2 battles. The left and top right Party Pokémon appear at the start.
Battle Commands
•
Fight: Display moves and select one to attack.
•
Pokémon: Switch Pokémon or view a Summary.
•
Bag: Use items to heal or catch Wild Pokémon.
•
Run: Escape a battle (cannot run from Trainer battles).
About 2-on-2 Battles
In a 2-on-2 battle, the Pokémon on the left and the top Pokémon on the right appear. Moves can attack two Pokémon simultaneously.
•
Use strategies like mixing Pokémon types to avoid weak spots.
•
Beat opponents one by one with converging attacks.
Catching and Raising Pokémon
Catch Wild Pokémon with Poké Balls via the Bag menu. You can give caught Pokémon Nicknames.
•
Tips for Catching: Lower the Pokémon's HP first. Status conditions like Sleep or Poison make catching easier.
Pokémon Evolution
Pokémon evolve as they grow, through leveling up, using Evolution Stones, or being traded. There are rumors of other methods as well.
A Pokémon Egg
Leaving a couple of Pokémon at a Day Care may result in finding an Egg upon return.
PC
Use PCs to store or withdraw items and Pokémon. PCs may be found outside Pokémon Centers.
