A new theme park is about to be opened by Uncle Scrooge, until Dr. Nickel arrives on the scene, taking over the power systems and scattering magic power all over the park. In order for the park to be opened, it's up to Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy to find the magical power and return the park back to the way it was.
In Disney's Party , players must move along a game board, completing various challenges to progress. Game length can be set between one and four days, with players taking turns to roll the dice and move their character. Landing on blue spaces adds magical power, while red spaces remove it. Green spaces are special and might contain one-time use items that allow for extra movement or skipping a turn.
Players must reach a specific park attraction first to be awarded magical power and collect stars, all while avoiding enemies in side-scrolling platform challenges. Completing an attraction awards more magical power and possibly a pet, which increases the player's magical power and has a unique power that can be used.
A board is completed after 12 turns, with the player collecting the most power declared the day's winner. When all boards are done, a boss battle follows, where the player with the most collected power overall fights the boss. Up to four players can play using one GBA or linked handhelds, and the game also features unlockable mini-games and side-scrolling attraction levels.
