Story
Hurry Home
Jon is driving Garfield home. Help Garfield beat the rush hour before his hunger takes over.
•
Move the car with the Control Pad (Left/Right changes acceleration).
•
Press the A Button to reach and grab stuff passing by.
•
Press the B Button to use the horn.
Beware of parcels that might not contain food.
China Box Surprise
While driving home from the farm, Garfield remembers the dinner invitation from Eddie. Help Garfield find Eddie again and go Chinese.

Press the B Button to fight obstacles.
Introduction
One Monday morning, Garfield wakes up without Pooky, his beloved teddy bear. Garfield looks for him everywhere and discovers he has been kidnapped by malicious mice. He must pay a considerable ransom by midnight, but Jon takes him to his parents' house and on a blind date.
Help Garfield deal with all these adventures, distractions, and chores such as the mouse hunt or catching chickens. You MUST hurry to help Garfield so that he can save Pooky.
How to Play
Getting Started
•
Turn OFF the power switch on your Nintendo Game Boy® Advance. Never insert or remove a Game Pak when the power is on.
•
Insert the Garfield Game Pak into the slot on the Game Boy Advance. To lock the Game Pak in place, press firmly.
•
Turn the POWER switch ON and the Game Boy Advance Screen will appear followed by license screens and then the Language Selection Screen. If you don't see them, begin again at step 1.
•
Select your language and press the A Button to get to the Main Title Screen.
•
Press any key to start the intro and skip through the dialog with the A Button.
•
Press START to skip the intro to go right to the Main Menu.
Main Menu
In the Main Menu press the A Button when “NEW GAME” is highlighted. If this is not highlighted press Control Pad Up or Down to select “NEW GAME”. This will open the Difficulty Level screen.
•
Select difficulty level EASY or HARD with Control Pad Up or Down and press the A Button to start a game with the selected difficulty level. This will take you to the Level Map.
•
Press the B Button to return to the Main Menu.
The “REPLAY INTRO” option will replay the intro. The “CREDITS” option will show who produced the game.
Passwords
If you have played the game before and completed levels you should have a password for each level you completed. You can use these passwords to continue the game from the point when you got the password.
Press Control Pad Down to highlight “PASSWORD” and then press the A Button to open the Password Screen. Move the cursor with the Control Pad to the letter of choice and press the A Button to enter the letter in the Password Field at the bottom of the screen.
•
Press the B Button to delete a letter.
•
Cancel back to the Main Menu by deleting all entered letters and pressing the B Button.
•
If you enter a valid password the cursor will move to the password and you can press the A Button to continue the game the password is granting access to.

Level Map
The Level Map is showing a map with all the locations where the levels take place. You must complete a level to get access to the next level. Locked locations are displayed without colour and will have colour when they are unlocked.
•
Move Garfield to the location and level you want to play with the Control Pad and press the A Button to start a level.
•
Press the B Button to skip back to the Main Menu.
The player rank is showing how skilled you are based on the number of completed levels, how well you've done in all levels and at which difficulty level you played. Silver is awarded for playing at difficulty level EASY and gold for HARD.
The completion rate indicates how much of the selected level has been completed. As long as you complete the primary objective of a level you will be able to progress to the next level and you can always replay a level to reach a better completion rate and thus obtain a higher ranking.
When you have completed a level or choose to quit a level you return to the Level Map with access to play the next level or replay any previous levels.
Level Instructions
In each level, you will move Garfield and help him avoid various obstacles. In most levels, he will be able to walk on the ground and jump to a higher platform or from platform to platform.
•
Collect all the food and all the objects and avoid falling on obstacles such as glass shards and high-tension lines.
•
You will encounter many adversaries and creatures who will make life difficult for Garfield. It is up to you to discover how to avoid or fight them.
Each level has a main objective to complete to succeed in the level. At the start of the level, you will receive instructions regarding the main objective and specific game controls.

In all levels, you will move Garfield using the Control Pad. In platform levels, Garfield will be able to dodge if you press the Control Pad down; this will also lower the camera.

Alley Cats
The thugs left down the alley and probably sold Pooky to Eddie the alley cat. Help Garfield find the Alley Cat.

Move Garfield with the Control Pad and jump with the A Button.

Press the B Button to fight Eddie and other obstacles.
Shopping Spree
In the Mall you can buy anything, and Pooky is going for the highest bid. Help Garfield find the pawn shop while avoiding angry shop keepers and other obstacles.

Mall Escape
Garfield must find his way out of the mall and head home to meet the demands of the thugs. Help him find the way while avoiding angry shop keepers and other obstacles.

Cats On Wheels

Surface Maneuvering

You can pick up milk bottles during levels to replenish or restore Garfield's health.
Pause Menu
Press START to pause the game; use the A Button to resume or the Control Pad to restart the level or quit to the Level Map.
