SWIV on the Game Boy Color is an adaptation of the 1992 SNES version Super SWIV. It's a vertical scrolling shooter where the player may choose to pilot a chopper or to drive an attack Jeep. The chopper can fly freely, but its forward-facing fire is limited. In contrast, both the chopper and jeep have the same specs: speed, armor, and agility. The levels are inspired by the 1992 version but with some modifications, including shorter length and fewer enemies. The 2-player mode, where one player controls the chopper and the other in the jeep, was removed.

The gameplay is fast-paced and action-packed, requiring quick reflexes to navigate through obstacles and enemy fire. Players must use their chosen vehicle's strengths to overcome challenges and reach the end of each level. With its challenging levels and simple yet addictive gameplay, SWIV offers a thrilling experience for fans of vertical scrolling shooters.
