MC Groovz Dance Craze is the first Dance Dance Revolution -style dancing game for the GameCube, designed for publisher Mad Catz ' dance mat controller. The game includes 28 licensed dance tracks, ranging from 70s funk and disco to modern hip hop, pop and electro.
The gameplay is divided into two styles: "Scroll" and "Spin". In "Scroll", the arrows represent steps to be made on the mat or buttons to be pressed on the controller in rhythm with the music. In "Spin", the arrows emerge from the center of the screen moving in four compass directions. Both styles have a psychedelic color display as background.
The game features three difficulty modes and allows players to save high scores to the memory card. The single-player modes include "Just Dance" for high score, "Dance Workout" with a calorie counter, and two-player modes "Dance Together" for cooperation and "Dance FaceOff" for competition.
