On-Field Football is a game based on American Football where you can play against the computer or another player, following the rules closely. Before you start, you can choose how many players or watch a demo game, select a game duration (5 or 15 minutes), and decide how the players will play. The view of the pitch is from a third-person perspective, showing the action behind the offensive team.
The game begins and once a player catches the ball, decisions need to be made quickly. Using the joystick, you push it up, down, left or right to select a play, which must be chosen within 30 seconds. Once both teams have selected their plays, you can control either the quarterback if offensive or a defender if defensive. After the quarterback passes the ball, the player with the ball is under your control. You can also punt the ball or kick it for an extra point or field goal.
