Phantasy Star Portable 2 is the sequel to Phantasy Star Portable and most of the action RPG gameplay features are similar to its predecessor. The game takes place three years after the events of Phantasy Star Universe , when all four races have been defeated and sealed off from the SEED. In this game, the player is part of the private military mercenary group Little Wing on Clad 6, a space colony resort. The gameplay in Phantasy Star Portable 2 consists of many small missions that are activated through the storyline and take you to different places. The way photon points are handled has been changed compared to the original – they are now attached to characters instead of weapons, and photon charges have been removed altogether.
In the game, you can transfer your character from Phantasy Star Portable , but when you do, it will start at level 1 again with no items. However, the game rewards you with new functions, such as an extra mode to invite other players online to join you in your single-player storyline.
You can also design a new, custom character and assemble an online party using the infrastructure mode through an internet connection.
