Way of the Exploding Fist was released in 1970 for the Commodore 64. In this martial arts action-adventure game, you play as various characters with different moves and abilities. The story follows a series of brutal fights between these characters, with the goal of defeating all opponents to become the champion.
The gameplay revolves around executing precise kicks, punches, and special moves to score points against your opponent(s). Each character has unique moves that can be performed based on direction and joystick/keyboard positioning. The game's scoring system rewards perfectly executed moves with full points, while less forceful contacts offer half a point. In the one-player mode, you progress through ranks by winning bouts, and in the two-player duel, the champion is determined by points after 4 rounds.
