Warriors Orochi 2 is the sequel to Warriors Orochi , a game that combines characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors games into a new unique storyline.

The story follows the Serpent King Orochi, who kidnapped the warriors of Dynasty and Samurai Warriors. After his defeat, peace was short-lived as former officers banded together to form their own armies. A mysterious group then appeared to bring Orochi back from the netherworld. The game pits the warriors of Wu, Shu, Wei, and the Samurai against these foes and their armies.

The gameplay features similar elements to the other Dynasty and Samurai games, including unlockable characters, upgradable weapons, and multiple stages. The team mate system also returns, allowing players to rotate between three different warriors from over 90 playable characters.

New features in this version include Dream Mode, which expands on Orochi's story, and new unlockable characters and weapons not seen before in the series. The North American release of Warriors Orochi 2 includes additional content such as 10 extra Dream Mode stages and two new playable characters, Benkei and San Zang from Musou Orochi Z , a Japanese exclusive.

Warriors Orochi 2 was released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) on September 4th , 2009.
