Free Mode
This mode allows you to practice your fishing skills without time limits or weight restrictions. You can fish in any of the four areas.
This helps you find "honey holes" where bass like to swim. If you catch a bass in Free mode, you can choose to bring it back to the Aquarium.
Extra Mode
The Extra option becomes available after completing all tasks in Challenge mode. While the time limit may be longer, the competition is more intense.
You must come in first place by catching a large load of fish.
Aquarium
After catching fish in Free mode, you can view your catch in the Aquarium.

Lure Action
Each lure has a unique action, and it needs to be enticing to attract bass. Ensure the lure is used to its full potential.
After casting, press the button to reel it in. Watch the Lure Action meter at the bottom of the screen to know when the lure is at its peak movement.
Line Tension
When a bass is on your line, the Line Tension meter appears at the bottom of the screen. This shows how much stress the line can withstand before breaking.
Keep an eye on the line, as some bass are stronger. If the meter goes too far into the red, an audible "caution" will sound; if tension isn't eased, the line will snap. Avoid giving too much slack, or the meter will go too far into the white, allowing the bass to escape.
Areas
There are four initial fishing areas in Action Bass, with the chance to unlock more based on your performance in Challenge mode. Areas vary in size, depth, visibility, and bass population.
To become a great fisherman, you must learn the best casting spot in each area.
Area 1: Boathouse Cast
This is the starting area for all fishermen, designed to introduce you to fishing. It's not too big or deep, with clear waters, allowing you to use any lure effectively.
Area 2: Jungle Bassing
You are in the heart of the jungle, hunting for big bass. The waters are filled with fallen tree limbs, which are great hiding places for bass.
Despite clear visibility, bass can be hard to find. With patience and practice, this area can be cleared quickly.
Area 3: Cloudy Fight
Don't be fooled by the scenic surroundings; this area is challenging. The waterfall kicks up mud, resulting in extremely poor visibility.
You'll need to use all your learned skills to catch bass here.
Area 4: Sunset Bigbass
This area is set in a partially submerged town. The bass here are large and put up a significant fight. To be the best, you'll need to catch one of these super big bass.
Lures
Each lure acts differently in the water, and some will perform better than others in specific locations. Below is a list of some lures you can use.
Minnow
The minnow is a weighted lure that stays at a shallow depth when reeled in. It moves slowly and fluidly, like a fish, attracting hungry bass. It is best used in clear waters.
Popper
These lures work on the water's surface. They drag along, with long white threads that catch the bass's eye with a back-and-forth motion. This lure is best used in clearer lakes.
Pencil
This sleek lure glides smoothly across the water's surface, creating a small wake that excites bass. It's probably the best lure for beginners, being simple and quickly reeled in for another cast.
Vibration
This is a weighted lure that, as its name suggests, vibrates through the water. It is very effective in deep and murky waters.
Spinner Bait
With its unique structure, this lure is best suited for a more seasoned fisherman. The diamond-shaped metal on top reflects light, making it more visible. It also has a frayed tail that simulates a small fish swimming when reeled in.
