Ballerburg: Castle Siege is a real-time artillery strategy game inspired by an earlier game of the same name. The goal is to destroy the opponent's castle, with no armies to command, relying on ballistic weapons such as cannons and catapults. Players can also use a bomber airship and magic effects to aid in their mission.
The game takes place in a 3D environment where players can build their own castle and its surroundings, including peasant huts and smithies, which cost gold. Gold is earned by collecting taxes from peasants. To destroy the opponent's castle, players must use their guns and catapults, aiming multiple times to ensure precision due to the unpredictable trajectory of projectiles.
Players can upgrade their weapons to increase their deadliness but must also manage the reload time and cost of each shot. Meanwhile, opponents try to disrupt the player's settlement by shooting at peasants, reducing their ability to buy essential items. Players can counter this by using wizards, summoning sandstorms or rain to obstruct the opponent's vision and targeting.
Ballerburg: Castle Siege supports multiplayer and hot-seat mode for up to four players simultaneously, adding a competitive edge to the game.
