Inventory Objects
Objects collected during your exploration are displayed in your inventory. You can view additional information on most items by highlighting them with the directional buttons and then pressing the button.
A menu will appear in the top left of the screen with options for the object:
•
Examine: If available, this provides a brief description of the object and possibly a clue to its potential use(s).
•
Use: This allows you to use the selected object.
•
Placing Object: If you choose to 'Use' an object that contains storage space, its contents (if any) will be displayed in the lower left-hand side of the screen. You can transfer objects to and from containers by selecting the target object, pressing the button, and then using the 'place X in Y' option shown in the top left corner.
Vital Character Data
HEALTH
The uppermost part of the Inventory display shows a watch with your character's essential statistics. At the top is the time, and below that is the character's energy status. This energy level decreases if your character is attacked.
POISON
To the right of the health bar is the Poison indicator. If your character is poisoned, the level of infection will be displayed here. Once the skull-and-cross-bones starts flashing, your character is in dire straits. If you haven't taken the anti-toxin shot or found assistance, you will die.
WEAPON USE
To use a weapon in your inventory, highlight it, press the button, and then select Use. That weapon will then appear in the character's Vital Data display at the top of the screen, along with any loaded ammunition.
You can quickly reload a weapon by highlighting it in the Vital Data display area and pressing the button. Your character will also automatically reload in-game as long as you have ammunition. Ensure your character has enough ammo and the gun is ready for action.
MAP
Select the Map icon to orient yourself. Door tag colors are shown, indicating which direction to head and which base doors correspond with colored tags in your inventory, allowing you to open them.

BIOSCANNER
If you find and use a Bioscanner, you will see a display of human brain activity in your vicinity. This display has a blip showing the relative position of detected objects, and its color changes to reflect distance:
Use your Bioscanner to help achieve your mission's secondary objective: 'STAY ALONE. STAY ALIVE'. Use the Bioscanner wisely, as its life, like yours, is not eternal.
OPTIONS
Pause the game and go to the main menu and options screen. The main menu is the only true PAUSE, as the in-game Inventory menu includes real-time elements like watches and the poison counter.
STORAGE HATCHES
Storage Hatches (some with flashing lights) are found throughout the Vita I base. Use these to store unneeded objects, create space for other objects, or exchange objects between game characters without them coming into contact.
VAC TUBES
If you find a Vac Tube terminal, you can use it to send items around the base. Access the Inventory interface via a Vac Tube to exchange items between your three characters, enabling teamwork and overcoming mission obstacles.
You can place up to four objects in the system at one time. Send or retrieve them by highlighting the Up (Send) or Down (Retrieve) pointing arrows and pressing the button. With more than one character by a Vac Tube, you can seamlessly exchange items using the inventory-based Vac Tube controls in conjunction with the (switch character screen) button.
