Game Guide
Extracted from the original game manual
This is a fantasy adventure game where players control a jester, his puppet, and an acrobat who stumble upon a powerful spellbook. The premise involves these unlikely heroes embarking on a magical journey after a disastrous wizard seminar. Players will likely use the spellbook's powers to overcome challenges and navigate a world filled with pandemonium.
Story
How It All Started
Fargus the jester and his puppet Sid were cousins who grew up together. They traveled from fair to festival, performing an act that was becoming stale. They were tired of being bombarded with fruit and eggs during their shows.
They needed a boost. A town crier announced the "W.I.T.S.: Wizards In Training Seminar" taught by Tony Vu, "The Worldly One." The seminar promised to teach attendees how to become a 10th level Wizard with "NO MONEY DOWN," including topics like Disappearing, Turning Into Things, Spellcasting 101, and Fun With Fire and Pyrotechnics. A free wizard's cap was included with admission.
Fargus and Sid saw this as a new career opportunity, a chance to play with fire, and an excuse to ditch their goofy hats. They immediately headed to Lancelot Castle.
Meanwhile in Another Part of the Village
Nikki, the youngest member of the Flying Fleugel Family, found carnival life dull. Her best friends were Brenda the Alligator Lady and Fritz the World's Smallest Cow. Nikki, a talented acrobat with quick reflexes, felt there had to be more to life than gripping a balance beam.
She dreamed of being a wizard. Her daydreaming led to trouble when she forgot to feed the lions, almost costing The Great Zeigfreed an arm. Nikki decided she was tired of performing with "geeks and freaks" and would run away to become a wizard.
Down at Lancelot Castle & Bingo Pavilion
Nikki, Fargus, and Sid found themselves in the back of the crowded seminar. They bumped into each other and exchanged greetings. Fargus introduced himself, Sid made a "Hubba hubba" sound, and Nikki complimented their hats.
The Worldly One made a dramatic entrance, appearing as a mackerel, a buffalo, and a llama through smoke. He then delivered an opening joke in a thick accent: "Excuse me, I've been going through a lot of changes lately."
The seminar quickly went downhill. Vu droned on, Fargus snored, Sid made spitballs, and Nikki practiced backflips, accidentally kicking patrons. Vu eventually waved a mossy book and announced, "When we reconvene, I'm gonna tell you about the most important and powerful book in the universe. There's donuts and mead in the lobby." He then left.
Nikki, eyes alight with mischief, urged Fargus and Sid to follow Vu. As they pursued him down the hallway, they noticed he had been drinking mead. Vu tripped over a carpet wrinkle, and an ancient book slipped from his wizard's backpack.
Nikki quickly grabbed the thick book before it hit the ground. Its title was "Ancient Wizards Spellbook," with "Must be fully trained and licensed to use" underneath. In very small print at the bottom, it read: "May result in danger and death."
This was exactly what they had hoped for. The three turned left, rushed up a staircase, and stood on a high balcony, holding power in their hands, with PANDEMONIUM awaiting.
