World Racing 2 , the sequel to the original World Racing , offers a significant improvement over its predecessor, allowing players to control a wide range of vehicles from various manufacturers. In contrast to the first game, which only featured Mercedes Benz cars, this version provides access to over 90 different cars from 17 distinct manufacturers, including Alfa Romeo and Morgan.
The game's main mode is the career progression, where players participate in 120 races that take them around the globe, visiting locations such as Italy and Florida. The objective of these races is to accumulate 'Speedbucks', which can be used to purchase new cars and various tuning options.
Another notable feature of World Racing 2 is its realistic driving physics, complete with oncoming traffic and a detailed damage model. Players can also personalize their vehicles with vinyls, alloy rims, and many other accessories.
World Racing 2 was released for the PlayStation 2 on November 24, 2000.
