Set in the city of Cologne based on Cologne , Crash Time 4: The Syndicate follows Ben Jäger and Semir Gerkhan as they try to neutralise a criminal syndicate that aims to take over the city. The game's storyline revolves around the duo causing chaos in the city, with the player controlling their car throughout.
The gameplay involves driving to checkpoints and participating in randomly generated missions, which often result in high-speed car chases where the player must stop or ram the opposing vehicle. There are also 20 pre-defined missions that offer a mix of challenges, including jumping sequences and racing through the city to collect ransom money.
As the player progresses through the campaign, they can unlock faster cars by completing the storyline or participating in optional race tournaments.
