Set in an alternate history of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor follows Talion, a Ranger who seeks revenge against Sauron's armies. After being betrayed and left for dead by his family, Talion is consumed by darkness and becomes the "Ghost Killer," a spectral assassin driven to punish those who have wronged him.

The gameplay in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor combines fast-paced action with strategic combat. Players control Talion as he takes on hordes of Uruk-hai, orcish creatures bred for strength and ferocity. With a unique "Power of the Dead" ability, Talion can corrupt or redeem his enemies, creating complex relationships that affect the game world.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor was released on November 21, 2014, exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console. It is an action-adventure game developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
