Steins;Gate is a visual novel set in 2015, where you play as Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed mad scientist and founder of the Hououin Kyouma Laboratory . You are on a mission to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious device that can send text messages to the past. However, your actions soon attract the attention of a secret organization known as SERN, who will stop at nothing to keep their research from falling into the wrong hands.
Gameplay in Steins;Gate is focused on making choices that affect the story and its multiple endings. You will need to manage Okabe's mental state, known as his "D-Mail" count, as it grows with each message received from the past. The game features a complex branching narrative with over 50 possible endings.
