Steins;Gate Elite , a visual novel game for the Playstation 4, is set in Akihabara, Tokyo. The story follows Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed mad scientist who discovers a way to send text messages to the past using a device called D-Mail. However, this power comes with a terrible cost: each time he uses it, he creates a new parallel universe.
Gameplay in Steins;Gate Elite is primarily focused on making choices that affect the story's outcome. The player takes on the role of Okabe and must make decisions about how to use his knowledge of the future to alter events in the past. Along the way, he must also deal with the consequences of his actions, as each decision creates a new branching narrative. The game features a unique time-travel mechanic that allows players to jump back and forth between different points in the timeline, adding depth and complexity to the gameplay.
