Golfamania is a golfing simulation game where players take on an 18-hole golf course with all the rules and scoring like in real-life golf. In this game, there are four different modes to play on: Practice, Match Play, Stroke Play, and Pro Tournament.
Within Golfamania , each mode offers a unique experience. In Practice, players can tackle any of the 18 holes available without an opponent. Match Play pits two players against each other, either human or computer-assisted. Stroke Play allows for up to four players to compete, including one computer opponent, and rewards character skill upgrades in power, accuracy, and luck. The Pro Tournament mode is where players face off against over 30 computer opponents on various holes, aiming to score lower than the others while earning experience points.
Regardless of the chosen mode, gameplay involves selecting a character and setting up their style and golf clubs before taking on the game. In most modes but Practice, players must choose three clubs from a selection of 17 different options (wood, iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter). When playing, the game presents a top-down view where players line up shots and select clubs for varying distances. The power bar skill mechanic requires players to stop the marker on the red area in the center to achieve a good hit.
