Asterix & Obelix is an action-adventure game that follows the story of two ancient Roman slaves, Asterix and Obelix. They live on a small island surrounded by water, where they spend their days playing pranks on the local villagers and causing chaos wherever they go. One day, a group of Romans arrives to take them back to Rome, but Asterix and Obelix have other plans.
The gameplay revolves around the two main characters navigating through levels, fighting enemies, and collecting gold. Players can switch between Asterix and Obelix at will, each with their unique abilities and strengths. Asterix is more agile and can jump higher, while Obelix has superhuman strength that allows him to break through certain obstacles.
Asterix & Obelix was released for the Super Nintendo in 1996 and has since become a classic of the action-adventure genre. Its colorful graphics and catchy soundtrack make it an enjoyable experience for players of all ages.

Game Guide
Extracted from the original game manual
This is a side-scrolling action-adventure game based on the classic comic series, set in 50 BC during the Roman occupation of Gaul. Players control the courageous Gaul Asterix on a global quest to rescue his kidnapped best friend, Obelix, from the Roman authorities. To succeed, players must travel across the Roman Empire to Egypt, battling Roman armies and evading traps set by Caesar's spies along the way.
Story
The Plot
The year is 50 BC. Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely... One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders.
These courageous, tough, stubborn, gregarious, rowdy and merry Gauls fear only one thing: that the heavens should fall on their heads...
Obelix is Captured
One day, the peace and quiet of this small village of indomitable Gauls is broken by a disturbing piece of news: Obelix has been kidnapped by a Roman patrol.
At this very moment, he is being taken to an unknown destination. The village council convenes and Asterix volunteers to set off and find his friend.
The Quest
To find Obelix, you will have to travel throughout Gaul, across the Roman Empire, taking your quest as far afield as the Egyptian Pyramids...
And all the time, you will have to battle with the Roman armies and avoid the traps set by Caesar's spies.
