The game incorporates the FedExCup championship format with rounds of golf at various courses, including Westchester Country Club, TPC Boston, Cog Hill, and East Lake. The putt preview has been improved to allow players to simulate the ball's path once per individual spot, taking into account elements like power, speed, and elevation.

The gameplay is centered around shot-making, with a new addition called Shot Confidence, which tracks player performance on specific courses, puts, and clubs. This affects experience and better performance on certain courses. The Wii version features unique controls, including the ability to shake the remote to taunt opponents and influence air conditions or spin.
