Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is part of the Tiger Woods PGA series , bringing enhancements and improvements without major graphical or gameplay changes compared to its predecessor. New courses have been added, with a total of 18 on the PS2 and 16 on the Xbox 360/PS3 . There are also new licensed professional golf players to choose from, totaling 23 on the PS2/Wii and 21 on the Xbox 360/PS3 .
The game features a customization option that allows players to import photos to create in-game faces based on custom images. Players can also customize clothing, hair, or eye color. The initial statistics can be improved by completing challenges or performing well in the PGA Tour, taking into account skill shots and overall ranking.
The gameplay incorporates the FedExCup championship format with rounds at various courses. The putt preview has been improved to simulate the ball's path once per individual spot, considering factors like power, speed, and elevation. The game also introduces Shot Confidence, tracking a player's performance on specific courses and using certain clubs.
The multiplayer option has been expanded with GamerNet, allowing players to create and play custom challenges with their scores posted online. Players can also taunt opponents with audio distractions on the Wii , using different moves like shaking the controls or wagging it.
