ESPN NFL Football, from Sega, brings the next installment in their popular NFL series. The game boasts an ESPN license but is actually part of the NFL 2K series.
The gameplay modes are extensive, including quick games, franchise mode, season, tournament, practice, first-person football, and online play. Franchise mode allows you to play one season after another, complete with a draft and off-season player dealings. The game features real NFL rules, including trade deadlines and salary caps.
The new feature in ESPN NFL Football is "The Crib," a virtual apartment that showcases all the bonus items and awards earned by completing objectives. Objectives range from simple accomplishments to big plays, like returning a punt or kick for 99 yards. Completing these objectives earns trophies and items to decorate The Crib.
First-person football has also been added to the game, providing a virtual experience of playing on the field.
The audio track features Chris Berman's ESPN-style commentary.
