R:Racing Evolution is a racing game featuring several modes of gameplay: The story follows Rena Hayami as she transitions from driving an ambulance to becoming a champion racecar driver. The game is divided into 14 chapters, with each chapter presenting a new challenge or opportunity for growth. Gameplay involves various modes such as Event Challenge, where you earn entries by winning previous challenges; Arcade Mode, where you compete against computer-controlled cars on a track of your choice; Time Attack, which focuses on achieving the best time; and VS. Mode, a two-player game where you race for points or the best time.
Players can customize their experience with options like brake assist, transmission types, and adjustments to car performance. The game features a range of cars, each with unique characteristics, and unlocking new cars is achieved by progressing through the story modes. Additionally, drivers will experience psychological pressure from other vehicles, which can be leveraged to pass opponents.
The game offers an instant replay feature and allows players to save their best races for viewing later.
