Blue Dragon is set in the world of Talta, where mysterious purple clouds have been appearing in the sky, bringing destruction with them. On one fateful day, a creature known as the Land Shark attacked the village, and three friends - Shu, Kluke, and Jiro - tried to capture it. They soon discovered that the Land Shark was a machine controlled by an evil person named Nene, who possessed ancient technology.
The game follows the story of these three friends as they leave their village in search of Nene, determined to stop him at all costs. With no random encounters and the ability to always see enemies, Blue Dragon is a traditional turn-based Japanese role-playing game that offers a unique gaming experience.
Blue Dragon features battles where each member of the party has their own shadow monster, such as Kluke's blue phoenix, Jiro's blue minotaur, and Shu's blue dragon. These shadows have various skills, spells, and attacks available, which are unlocked as they level up.
