Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a fighting game set in the worlds of both Mortal Kombat and DC Comics. The story takes place after a catastrophic event known as "The Shinnok Invasion", where the forces of hell break through the boundaries between Earth-Prime and Outworld, unleashing chaos upon the world. Players must choose to either join forces with the heroes of the DC Universe or the fighters of Mortal Kombat in order to save their respective worlds.
The gameplay revolves around one-on-one combat matches, where players can select from a variety of characters, each with unique abilities and movesets. The game features a number of different modes, including Arcade mode, Versus mode, and the X-ray special system, which allows for more intense and dramatic finishing moves.
