Star Force , released on June 25, 1985 for the Famicom, is a unique blend of action and adventure gameplay. In this game, Commander Ralph must travel through six distinct time periods in the Neo Final Star space patroller to uncover the truth behind the creation of the evil planet Gordess.

Star Force begins as a vertically scrolling shooter, where players must defeat enemies and collect time pieces to progress. These time pieces can be used at teleporters to travel to different time periods or spent at shops to purchase equipment. The game takes a dramatic turn when the player enters buildings, transforming into an isometric dungeon exploration shooter with the objective of locating one of the seven time stones.
