The NBA 08 PSP version offers a different experience compared to its PS2 and PS3 counterparts. This game focuses on two main modes: "Conquest Mode" and "Season Mode". In Conquest Mode, players can earn money through games, upgrade their attributes, and improve their team by buying items for their home city.
Players also have the opportunity to participate in various minigames such as 3-Point Shootout, Playstation Skills Challenge, and Dodgeball within "Block Party". The game features Ad-hoc multiplayer capabilities and a "Pick Up Mode" where players can choose from 10 randomly selected players for an instant match against the CPU or human opponent.
