Bottom of the 9th , released in 1996, is one of the earliest games in Konami's baseball franchise. The game features 300 actual MLB players at the time, but does not include licensed teams from Major League Baseball. Players can choose to play against a friend in Exhibition, Season, or Playoffs.
The gameplay focuses on a simulation style of play, where player stats determine how well they hit, pitch, and field. The game also allows for customization of teams and the ability to create a "Dream Team" by choosing any player. Additionally, there are various camera angles to choose from, as well as meters that track player progress, such as a "Streak Bar" for batters' hitting ability and a "Pitching Bar" for pitchers' fatigue levels.
