Cyberia is an action game with puzzle sequences set in a world controlled by two rival superpowers. In the year 2027, the Free World Alliance and the Cartel are engaged in a struggle for power, and Zak, a cyber-hacker freed from prison, must infiltrate the Cyberia Complex to uncover the truth about a mysterious weapon being developed there.

As Zak navigates through the complex, he faces numerous challenges, including Cartel forces sent to stop him and genetically engineered creations that have taken over the area. The game features scripted events, cutscenes, and limited navigation between locations, often leading to puzzle sequences or action scenes involving shooting down planes or navigating flying vehicles.
